Not very good with toys

I have five cockatiels and I bought gloves because three of them are untamed so I need them to be able to handle my birds without harming them , but they don't hurt me. . Well these gloves don't work, they poke through them. Haven't tried doubling the gloves to be next but won't be buying them again.
