I have an old RCA antenna that I could use for 56 channels. There were about 15 shops, Spanish and religious. This newer antenna pulls 46 even when using the power supply. However, I think that 5 were Spanish and 3 shop. I have it on a dresser in front of the window. The amp didn't really matter. Here's what I found: I routed the antenna cable behind the furniture and TV using an extension cord. By moving the cord from the antenna down the wall of my dresser and twisting it, then going behind the entertainment center with the extension cord, pulling out a few more channels and refining some of them. Although it works pretty much the same as my other antenna, should you buy this antenna I would recommend running the cable in various configurations. It may take some patients and time, which I think is a lot better than giving up and signing up with a provider.
