I bought a ficus and ginseng bonsai online and although it came to me in fairly good condition I noticed a small dent in its root and tapped it (a couple of times) to see what was going on (I mean root rot?) and the root bark was broken so I applied the paste asap (after I bought it). But in the beginning it wasn't easy to apply the paste to my tree, but it was done. I didn't completely remove the broken bark so I could better seal the hole with paste (the hole was quite large). It's been about two weeks and although the paste has "dried up" it was still sticky (so don't mess with it). Despite this, my bonsai is still healthy!
