Review on Taulman 2 85Mm Spool Nylon Bridge by Chris Spoja

Revainrating 4 out of 5

If you remove it, the filament will do its best to detach from the spool and get stuck.

I've used a few reels of these on my Lulzbot Mini and have two caveats: 1) Don't remove the mesh! This is not packaging material. If you remove it, the filament will do its best to detach from the spool and get stuck. It says so on the Taulman website but NOT on the box. 2) This material left a mark on my extruder that prevented it from making electrical contact with the base assembly during auto-leveling. This in turn led to miscalibration, causing the extruder die to scratch the layer. Clean the outside of the nozzle after each use! When I had an issue, Lulzbot tech support advised me to do it with a Scotch-Brite shim at extrusion temperature; that is NOT specific enough. There are many types of Scotch Brite pods; You want one that won't melt at that temperature and is strong enough to remove residue. Scotch Brite 7447 works. However, the filament produces beautiful, lightweight and durable prints.
