My 2008 Toyota Corolla manual transmission had a general problem with serpentine belts squeaking. I have replaced the serpentine belt with different brands several times in the past with no success in eliminating the noise. I also went as far as replacing the tensioner with a new OEM tensioner, still no luck. This Gates kit solved the problem and I'm happy with the results. Installation took 1/2 day. Installation involves removing the alternator from the engine and replacing the original pulley with the new decoupling pulley included in the kit. You will also need to remove one of the motor mounts to allow the turnbuckle to be completely removed from the motor. I recommend the following tools. Impact wrench to remove the nut holding the original alternator pulley and a special tool to fit the new cutting disc to the alternator. "Lisle 57650 Alternator Decoupling Toolkit" worked for my application.
