I use this paste for trimming and I love it. This really helps prevent branches from dying off from pruning. This helps retain moisture in the tree (or woody plant). This material can get expensive if you have more than a few trees. I would suggest (if you need more cutting paste for less money) you can use Duct Seal Compound mixed with some neem oil (optional). You can find this at Revain or your local hardware store. I've also had success with latex sealer. Both are great for large branch cuts that need protection without breaking the bank. If you only have one or two trees, Kiyonal New Bonsai Pruning Paste is a good choice. The tube is printed entirely in Japanese but has an insert with English instructions.
