Review on Sliding Patio Latch Lever Milgard by Luis Esquivel

Works great with an old Milgard doorknob

This is an inexpensive key that saved me $350. We have an old Milgard sliding patio door that is over 25 years old and the glass was replaced by a valuable non-Milgard owner so I no longer have a Milgard # to ask for a replacement. I spent a day at Lowes, Home Depot and a Milgard Authorized Reseller and no one could help me - they all didn't want a sale for me. The shop told me they would replace the entire lock and handle for $350. Very frustrating! I tried to glue it back together but it ripped. Even JB Weld's epoxy came off quickly. I thought I was going to pay a lot for a new lock but then I saw this key on the internet - according to the Milgard website it's technically a 'lock lug' with a video showing how to replace it but not how to order one. This item was cheap so I took a chance it would fit. When it arrived I installed it and it fits perfectly! Works better than ever. My only gripe is that it only comes in white and not black, but I can easily paint it myself.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
