Overview Deluxe Simple Deluxe Reptile Heaters, size 8” x 12” 120V/60Hz, 16W. The heating pad does not have a built-in thermostat, it was connected directly to the power supply. I used a digital multitester that measures temperature with a thermal sensor. I ran three tests, each test had the panel connected for at least 1 hour. Test 1 – The sensor placed under the pillow showed a maximum temperature reading of 103F. Test 2 - A sensor placed on top of the pillow reads a maximum temperature of 94F (heat released into the air). Test 3 - Under glass sensor placed on top of the glass simulating heating under an aquarium that reaches a maximum temperature of only 24°C (heat from the heating element under the glass, not inside the terrarium). I believe this seal is insufficient for use in a tank configuration due to the very low exit temperature. It is possible that a higher wattage mat could provide sufficient heat for reptile use in a tank configuration. I do not recommend this product to anyone.
