Review on LG 27UK850-W Monitor with FreeSync and Multiple Adjustment Options by James Hill

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well, while it lasted

As many say, the picture quality is good. For the price it wasn't the best value. I had about two years before the corners started turning white. Now, after two and a half years of moderate use, the corners of the screen are white. Cable routing isn't well thought out, this monitor looks sloppy on any desk that shows the back of things. Other reviews point to various USB issues. It doesn't look good next to a 27-inch iMac. The matte screen looks odd next to the Apple screen. I figured I could use this LG with a Mac Mini, but it didn't take long to just get an iMac instead. This monitor on a Mac Mini doesn't have a built-in OS feel like the iMac experience. this should get three stars, maybe even two stars. But for picture quality it's at least 4 stars if it works and is set up well. The ability to shoot in portrait mode is really good for viewing some images, but the 16:9 aspect ratio isn't great for photos that are already cropped to a full 35mm image or any other format. standard size. No stars for the film-compatible 16:9 format. Unsatisfied. It's time to buy a monitor for a computer that consumes 1/3 less than my regular computer.
