I should have noticed that the product and packaging weighed 5.3lbs. I can only assume all packaging was included in the weight of the item. In fact, according to my grocery scale, the combined weight of the pan and lid is just under 4 pounds, while the pan itself only weighs about 2 pounds. Also, nowhere on the packaging or product does it say where the product was made. I now suspect that this is a cheap Chinese product for discounters. In case of doubt, three stars should prove the product right. If, after some use, the item exceeds my current expectations, or if it does not keep and does not cook properly, I will update my review.
