Review on 🌡️ MotoRad 719-180 Thermostat: Optimal Engine Temperature Control for Efficient Performance by Shane Tomko

I was trying to replace the thermostat on my 2012 Chevy Malibu and found that there was a compression spring in the housing. Most people don't have enough thumb strength to push the thermostat in, so I can't get the old one out. Also, what is the cardboard tube that came with the thermostat for? I couldn't find a YouTube video on how to replace the thermostat on a 3.6 liter V6 engine and would rather do the repair myself.
