It works! I'm a beginner angler so can't say much about how well it tracks structure or vegetation (although you CAN see it). But I know I sat on a fish and caught it. I've bought a throwable sonar from another manufacturer in the past and it seems much more accurate and reliable. (For example, another told me I was about 5 feet deep when I could see the bottom clearly, and there were two.) I also like that you can toggle the fish symbols on and off so you can learn how they can better interpret sonar results for themselves. It wasn't an option for the cheaper unbranded one I had.
