Review on Centerforce DF017010 Friction Clutch Pressure by Jamal Murph

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pure truth! for parts

I had a dual friction clutch (DF017010) installed on my Trans am 20000 because it is my original clutch (same factory that was never changed) was completely worn out. To make this review a bit shorter I will list the PROS and CONS. FOR 1. After break-in (NORMAL RIDING FOR 3 WEEKS!) the car shifts hard and you REALLY feel the power going to the rear wheels.2. Shifts are so smooth I don't feel them on the freeway even though I know I'm in the next gear.3. This clutch easily handles 400 RWHP and my starts off the start line are fast and hard. CONS: 1. You will need to purchase a new throwout bearing (NEED TO REPLACE!) as this kit only comes with the clutch and pressure plate.2. Although this is a heavy duty clutch, it is expensive compared to other GENUINE (non heavy duty) parts that come with the clutch, pressure plate, pressure plate bolts, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and new flywheel. I spent another $200 on parts that didn't come with the Center Effort Kit that I needed to install properly.3. All clutches MUST be broken in, but this gives you a chance to practice because my clutch pedal was REALLY stiff and thumped (shaking and vibrating) when I gave the clutch pedal just a little bit and that can freak some people out. After driving normally, even on the Autobahn, IT'S OVER AFTER 3 WEEKS OF DRIVING! I think I really like this clutch but my only complaint is that there is a high cost for all the parts that need to be installed but if I had another choice I would stick with CENTERFORCE!
