Note: I print for both hobby and commercial purposes. My review is more pertaining to commercial use, however.I used to buy eSun PLA+ Cool White for all my white printing - especially the refills which were very nicely priced, with the added value of not having to throw away spools that I was done with. eSun has since stopped keeping the refills in stock, and the price of the same filament with the spool as well as availability issues behooved me to look elsewhere at the time. The eSun PLA+ has always been the best for me for color and strength (will get into that below).Hatchbox was worth re-ordering and I did periodically, but I still was looking for cheaper prices, and tested 3d Solutech white refill (which I have pictured in contrast/comparison). The notable differences between the two are:1) Hatchbox is substantially LESS transparent. You can clearly tell in the stack of boxes printed which are Hatchbox (bottom), and which are 3d Solutech. +1 to Hatchbox.2) Hatchbox has a cooler/whiter color which is preferable to me. I was true true white. Even against a black surface, you can see the 3d Solutech white filament is slightly warmer. Not warm, not bone . but warmer. Not the end of the world for prints that contain contrasting colors though as it becomes harder to tell the difference. +1 to Hatchbox.3) Hatchbox is noticably more stiff/brittle than my prior experience with eSun PLA+ Cool White and the 3d Solutech White. This is only a problem for items I need to press fit together, which may crack or break. For concerning items I leverage a heat gun to soften up the print a little before assembly. -1 to Hatchbox.4) None of the PLAs I've printed with have had notable adhesion issues on my smooth PEI sheet. I think most people having adhesion issues with PLA have personal issues but that's just my experience - I've printed with so many different brands of PLA, I've never had a problem that wasn't directly associated to a build plate that needed to be cleaned, or old/humid PLA which is no longer a problem in my dry boxes.I wish Hatchbox would drop the price a few dollars or offer spool-less refills. I'd jump on that in a heartbeat . assuming eSun didn't come back and offer their refills again.
