Rear tailgate did not work. I spoke to the dealer who seemed unwilling or afraid to quote me a price for the repair. I ordered a part and got it. Very light and simple replacement that works the same as the original. I would make a video but You Tube has great repair videos.

This rear latch was a great find! Our 2010 Escape Hybrid latch would no longer open. Ford charged $700 for its replacement. We did this about 5 minutes after removing the rear plastic inner cover. Only need a T27 bit to remove three screws. The first opening went flawlessly and since then without any problems. Great DIY project.

My sister in law bought a used 2012 Ford Escape and was told the tailgate didn't work. After watching a YouTube video I was able to remove the back panel without damaging it or exposing that part. The first thing I checked was that it wasn't a fuse. I found the part number and was able to order it here. The part fit perfectly and worked right after I connected it. I appreciate the easy installation.

Delivery was very fast! I doubted it would fit, but once installed it worked like a champ! The perfect match for someone who has failed. Also free returns if it's the wrong part. I have to say that for a 2009 car I was skeptical that I would be able to find a part like this. Two people are required for installation unless you are a professional mechanic. Also, the plastic packaging was not sealed for return. I had to rip it apart to get the product.

This part made me nervous about the $25 but compared to the OEM I removed I didn't notice a difference. I like to time my build or simple install and the hardest part was opening the door which took just over 2 minutes and with a drill and a Tourqe bit (t27) it took less than 5 minutes. A total of 6 minutes 47 seconds from start to finish, including the time it takes you to start recording and hit the Done button. works great and very easy to use. There are some good YouTube videos if you don't know how. Make sure you pry the plastic properly (just a long screwdriver or a thin but strong wall plug works great), otherwise you'll often get stress marks. As a souvenir, all you need is 1 star and 1 Phillips head (and crowbar). This is very easy to fix. Keep in mind that the reason you need to replace this is probably because it got wet, so fix the leaking seal around the rear window or it will happen again…

My courtesy light wouldn't turn off because my battery was dead. I have to fix this. I have the part, 3 torx screws, do not tear off. 2 straps. I swapped it out in minutes. Connected the wiring harnesses. The car started and the error was gone. Ford Escape 2012 Dome Light is back in action! I am very happy.
