Compatible with DS220+

I was trying to upgrade my DS 220+ Synology nas ram and tried a bunch of Crucial RAM both Dual Rank and Single. None worked and after reading many reviews I understood it was a hit or a miss.I got the "Timetec 16GB DDR4 2666MHz (DDR4-2666) PC4-21300 (PC4-2666V) Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL19 2Rx8 Dual Rank 260 Pin SODIMM Laptop Notebook PC Computer Memory RAM Module Upgrade (16GB)" reference from reddit and decided to give it a try. The one I tried is Dural Rank 16GB. It immediately recognized…

Pros
  • Module Size:32GB Package: 2x16GB For Laptop, Not For Desktop
Cons
  • May require additional fan installation to prevent overheating

It works with acer aspire e15 with ddr4 ram

I have acer aspire e15 e5-575-53vg. My laptop was becoming sluggish. Have an ssd installed so I knew that wasn't the problem and the only one I am able to upgrade to improve my PC performance was to replace my 16gb 2x8 to 32gb 2x16. Because the 16gb ram was using 98% all the time. The max speed my laptop can go up to 2133 MHZ but it's still nice to have a ram capable of running at 2666mhz.

Pros
  • Internal Components
Cons
  • May not be able to handle all types of workloads

16G Plug and play in my DS220+

I read review online and bought the Dual Rank 16G, installed to my Synology DS220+, it is working great. The NAS can read to 18G RAM (2G pre-installed), it was loaded to 27%, and now feel faster for basic use (not do video convert). This is a great value RAM, highly recommended for NAS.

Pros
  • The compatibility with a wide range of operating systems guarantees versatility
Cons
  • Could cause crashes during high-performance tasks

Works in the 2018 mac mini

I upgraded my 2018 Mac Mini's memory last night using this product. Everything went well (although it was needlessly complicated and delicate), but the system would not POST. While disassembling the system to debug the issue, my spudger must have slid under the fan socket and broke off a large portion of the socket. Five of the six pins were still in place. I tried to bend the sixth pin down, but it fell off as soon as I touched it. I was able to get the system to boot with the original 8GiB…

Pros
  • Optimized for notebook PCs, this RAM kit is suitable for professional and personal use
Cons
  • May not provide noticeable performance gains for most users

NAS RAM Upgrade: my feedback

Upgraded a Synology NAS 420+ from the standard 2GB to 10GB with this 8GB SODIMM. Worked perfectly from the start. Easy to install and was recognized by the system without issues.

Pros
  • Guaranteed Lifetime warranty from Purchase Date and Free technical support based on United States
Cons
  • Could cause unexpected shutdowns if not functioning properly

Affordable Memory that Does the Job

This is a great upgrade for the Synology DS920+ even though officially the system only supports 8GB total memory. Passed memory test and is stable for the week I've tested it. For the price today, it's a simple purchase decision.

Pros
  • Power Supply: VDD=1.2V (1.14V to 1.26V) VDDQ = 1.2V (1.14V to 1.26V)
Cons
  • May require additional BIOS configuration to function properly

This works in my Synology DS1520+

I first tried the more expensive Crucial 16gb RAM, but my Synology DS1520+ would not boot. This Timetec variant worked flawlessly, at half the cost. This upgrade cut my average memory load in half and made the entire system work much better. I have 8 cameras and several docker containers. This upgrade is a must!

Pros
  • good price, works well
Cons
  • Could cause overheating issues if not installed correctly

Working Great in My Synology DS220+

I installed this 4GB stick in my Synology DS220+. I had to reinstall it because I didn't push it in far enough the first time. The NAS took about 1 minute to boot and it has been running great since I installed it. Currently backing up two computers and two more to go. Way cheaper than the Synology branded memory.

Pros
  • Working perfectly. Instantly detected and running very well in my NAS
Cons
  • May not be worth the investment for basic computing needs

Works great in Synology DS920+

Bought the Timetec 8GB DDR4 2666MHz 1Rx8 Single Rank and installed in a Synology DS920+ for a total of 12GB of RAM. Memory passed memory tests and is detected and running without issue. I have multiple Docker containers installed and running and this makes a huge performance improvement.

Pros
  • arrived fast and easy install
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all processors

Easy to install best in my review

Expanded my storage & easy install. Not versed well enough about the part to determine if this is a best size/speed available or how this compares to othe brands.

Pros
  • no problems at all
Cons
  • May not be easy to return if not satisfied

Cheap memory!: my feedback

Now I am not an expert, so it is impossible to say anything about the quality of these modules, other than that they work. And then they are furiously cheap. :-)

Pros
  • No issues using in my DS220+. Great value!
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all applications

Works perfectly and very cost effective

Installed this in my Synology DS220+ to have the total of 18GB RAM. It works well. The best part is that DS220+ automatically uses most of the spare RAM as cache. So when I upload a big movie, the entire movie remains in cache and is served to TVs without turning on the hard disks. Highly recommend this upgrade for DS220+.

Pros
  • Works perfect with the Synology nas no issues at all.
Cons
  • May not provide significant performance improvements for most users

From 8 to 16gb it’s great!

My previous ram was 8 GB, the jump to the double is great! Gaming, multitasking, working, everything is upgraded! They work perfectly, just as advertising!

Pros
  • Funcionan perfectamente en el equipo
Cons
  • Could potentially void warranty if installed incorrectly

Bought it for use in Synology DS920+

And it did not disappoint at all. The system booted and recognized the ram in less than 4 mins. It’s a must and cheapest buy as a memory upgrade for this version of Synology NAS.

Pros
  • Enhance your work from home experience with faster processing speeds
Cons
  • May require additional alignment during installation

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SYNOLOGY DS220+

Hey everyone! We're a pro IT company that builds Synology servers like clockwork. Just wanted to throw this out there. This 16GB 2666 module does not run stable with Synology DS220+. It would freeze up our server and not allow us to complete various tasks. The server boots up and recognizes this chip but the instability in operations is not worth the trouble. Spring for the Crucial 16GB dual rank module instead.

Pros
  • Exactly as it states. Great stuff at a good price!
Cons
  • Could be a waste of money if not properly installed

Works for Synology DS220+

I was concerned reading about how some memory would work with a Synology NAS, which models and brands did and didn't work, etc. This one had a great price and many reports that it works with Synology. So, I opted to try it. (Timetec 16GB DDR4 2666MHz (DDR4-2666) PC4-21300 (PC4-2666V) Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL19 2Rx8 Dual Rank 260 Pin SODIMM Laptop Notebook PC Computer Memory RAM Module Upgrade (16GB) )Unboxed my new Synology DS220+, installed the RAM, and installed my new drives. Started right

Pros
  • Easy to install. Works great, installed in a ThinkPad T480s . A bits slower than the name brand SIMM
Cons
  • May not be necessary for most users’ computing needs
