I would not recommend this item for tight tires. I bought this product based on the reviews and because I didn't want to bend my alloy wheels. The problem is that the thickness of the plastic needs to be strong enough to keep the tire from slipping into the rim. Tire adjustment levers are strong enough to deal with fat tires. I had to remount my fat 26x4.0" tire before I could fill the tube with 10 year puncture repair compound and pump the tube back up.
