Works exactly as I hoped it would

Hooked this up to a 2003 Toyota 4Runner Limited for my teenage daughter. Audible from the inside, but not too loud - and certainly not when making music. It's loud enough outside to be heard by people in the immediate vicinity -- like in a grocery store parking lot. I could see people stopping and looking up while reversing so this works great!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • New competition has arrived

Barely audible on plugs

Not worth buying. The backup alarm is said to work at 97 decibels. I could barely hear it with the window open, I had to get out of the truck to see if it was really making a sound. I ordered 3 of these as a work requirement. All three devices behaved the same to the point of being inaudible. In fact, we've been told to leave the workplace until we have a backup alert.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I don't really have any complaints about it, everything is fine

Just what my Trailer Ready Ford Expedition needed

I wanted my RC backup camcorder to come with a backup horn to improve safety when reversing. This product was easy to install and provided an adequate horn level to alert passers by your vehicle. It's not as loud as a garbage truck, but satisfactorily warns children, the elderly, or other nearby passers-by. Of course, this also expands your trailer connection into a more comfortable position. A good product. Many Thanks

Poor design when using a backup horn is the sole or primary purpose.

This actually means that it is an extension of the trailer lighting cable. When the reversing alarm is on. The reversing alarm's tone is a bit shy; it's not as loud or "obnoxious" as the BU horn in my neighbor's van. To be at all visible, the spring-loaded dual cover must be slightly ajar, exposing the trailer's lighting connections to the elements. I opened the cap about half an inch which doubles or triples the sound of the BU horn, then wrapped heavy duty tape around the entire adapter…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some negative points

Solving a problem can cause big problems.

I rarely use the 7 pin connector on my bumper, but almost every weekend I use the connector in the body of a 10,000 pound gooseneck truck. This device offers backup alarms, which is really good (I would have preferred longer beeps at a slower pace, but hey, it does what it does). and cords from the trailer may cause this unit to sag or dangle from the socket in the back of my truck. Once upon arrival I was told my light was not on but as soon as I pushed the plug harder they worked again. On…

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons
  • Seller Communication
