ACDelco 38009 Professional Flanged Pulley Review

Failed to load media. Very disappointed in this bum. The OEM lasted just over 200,000 miles and this one failed after 2,500 miles. I bought the ACDelco because it's a part that can leave you stuck if it fails, shedding or chewing up the $30+ serpentine belt that drives the power steering, alternator and water pump. Of course the return window is closed and I'm stuck with this crap. The only saving grace is that I heard the bearing click and crunch loudly before it left me at the curb.

As the old one had some play in its bearing, this Delco AC flanged pulley was purchased and installed. On my 2003 Grand Am with a 3.4 V6, this is actually the pulley that goes to the belt tensioner. I loosened the serpentine belt, removed the belt tensioner, unscrewed the bolt holding the pulley, installed a new pulley, and reinstalled everything. together. 10-15 minutes work, works great. Although manufactured by ACDelco and listed for their specific ACDelco tensioner assemblies, it does not show up on the GM parts breakdown for the vehicle.
