When I finally installed this item it found that it was defective. The strut doesn't put enough pressure on the belt until the machine warms up for 2-3 minutes, after which it stops squeaking. There must be a Chinese piece of spare scrap. Spend the extra money and buy a quality replacement as installation is difficult. We are very sorry about the purchase. DO NOT BUY

This was a perfect match for the factory tensioner that ultimately let me down. This is by no means an easy setup. You will need to remove the lower motor mount and the upper motor mount and then lift the motor from underneath. If your car has an automatic transmission, you'll have to play around with the height of the engine until you can twist it out. This product is somewhat difficult to review. When I got the tensioner in the mail (before I saw the factory tensioner that's already on the car) it seemed very cheap to me and hearing such horror stories about those tensioners failing and damaging the crankshaft pulley I got a bit scared.
