TV in our driveway! - Audio and Video Accessories

Instead of moving a cable box around the patio, we bought one of these a few years ago and hooked it up to our DVR. When we moved in we used it on our screened in porch. We had some issues and didn't know if it was the device or our ISP. Obviously it was our provider. We decided to leave the new block as a backup. That thing is damn cool! All you need is a WiFi connection and an ISP in your home and you're done! (The new owner of our old house called me trying to find out how we were watching…

Easier than running wires in hard-to-reach places

More expensive than running wires, but MUCH easier. I'm using this to send security video from a Network Video Recorder (NVR) to a monitor located in a hard to reach cable location. The previous DVR security system provided composite video and there was already a spare pair of cables (Cat5) in the wall. The new HD video system does not have a composite video connection. I've been using an HDMI to composite video converter for a while, but after upgrading all my monitors to HD, it's time to…

No sound on my main TV

Loved the fact that this unit allows me to wirelessly stream HD images/sound to a remote TV. However, after installing everything that was stated, I found that I couldn't get any sound on my main TV. I called the manufacturer's support three times. Each time I was told to restart the cable box and then the two devices. But that didn't solve the problem at all. I even tried switching to high quality HDMI cables. Still no sound on my main TV which is connected directly to the station via the "to…

I bought them a few years ago and am happy with their performance.

I bought these units a few years ago and am happy with their performance. This time I bought them for a different TV setup and was pleasantly surprised to see that they've been upgraded to the next generation. They operate on a different Wi-Fi frequency than my old ones, so there's no interference between them at all. I use them to extend my xfinity cable boxes into a second TV. So now I have 4 TVs that can access cable with just 2 cable boxes. I bought additional Xfinity Anywhere remotes that…

Pros
  • WIRELESS HDTV INSTALLATION ANYWHERE - Replaces HDMI cables with wireless technology so you can stream Full HD video straight from your cable or satellite TV. Forget the HDMI cable and mount your HDTV anywhere without sacrificing quality
Cons
  • Something else

Works great until you turn off the TV. I have two of these systems and love them except for one small flaw. Recipients often like to fall asleep or something when I turn off the TV. Signal strength is good and doesn't break down when in use, but more than 75% of the time I have to turn the receiver off and on again after I turn on the TV and find a blank screen instead of the satellite screen I was hearing from am expected to see. The satellite receiver always outputs a signal and I never turn…

It just works

I got the Actiontec MyWirelessTV2 as a Christmas present. Its main purpose is to mirror my downstairs DirectV set-top box for my upstairs TV. For $200 you can install a Directv wireless box, but it's a cheaper option as it saves you $7 a month. Pros: It works very well, almost 100% lag-free. I say this because it seems that sometimes when I press the guide button it appears when I press it and others it appears almost 1 second later. I wouldn't play games on it but it works fine for watching TV

Pros
  • Remote controls and accessories
Cons
  • Without car control

I bought these because I was trying to stream two different devices and read a separate review. I couldn't do it with my existing device (TECH-DIGITAL) because the signals conflict with each other. The good news is that they obviously use different signals because they both work together at the same time, but this device failed to transmit to TECH-DIGITAL and had a failure rate about 10x higher than my tech. -DIGITAL. Notably, it jumps for a quick second about every few minutes, which…
