This allowed me to convert an old Black and Decker grinder/buffer to fit the new 5/8" bits. The old Black and Decker is well built and I didn't want to throw it away it brought it back to life.

Quality was excellent but the 3/8" female thread didn't fit my grinder (Makita n9514B) so I couldn't use it. I tried to convert the grinder to a 5 /8 connection " to add a drive to my grinder. I will try something else.

This adapter fits the drill motor I removed from an old drill that had a broken start switch. The adapter allowed me to connect a motor to a 5/8" 11TPI flare nut to spin a gear with a 5/8" hole in a DIY project. I added a set screw to the hex to prevent the adapter from unscrewing from the drill motor.

I was expecting the Harbor Freight Pneumatic Crusher to come with metric threads but no. The only Chinese tool to opt for a 3/8 24 thread on the mandrel. So my collection of metric adapters was useless. This little gem solves that problem and allows larger drives (or is it drives?) and accessories to work. Steel, that's good.

Delivery was prompt. The box said 5/8 11 to 3/8 24 but the adapter was 5/8 11 to M10 1.5. It was knocked out on the adapter and of course didn't fit the shaft of the 3/8 24 grinder, I sent it back and two days later it was exchanged. The main reason for not giving just one star. However, the replacement was identical to the first supplied. Weiler, the manufacturer must have a problem with the way they package these things.
