After using it for a while I would look elsewhere. This adapter is cheap, gets very hot when only one of the USB ports is in use, and is completely unstable. I plugged an ethernet cable into it today to use for an online meeting and it will say Connected, Not Connected and jump between them. This is actually my second time buying this product. The first was for a family member who recently upgraded to a MacBook with only USB-C ports (ugh). This is better than hubs that snap onto a laptop as it allows more flexibility on a narrow/compact desk and comes with all the ports you could possibly need. My only concern is that sometimes the external HDMI monitor I connect to requires me to physically open my MacBook for the HDMI connection, but I think this is a limitation of my old monitor
