I read a few reviews that complained about the quality while others did not. I took a chance and am very pleased with the product. Very heavy-duty and operates as intended. Yes, even if a padlock is installed someone could unscrew one of the sides and gain access, but I was looking for something that looked good and heavy enough to keep a double-door on a garden shed secured and this fits that pistol.

This is stamped 304 which I take to be 304 stainless with high polish. Only slightly attracted to strong magnet, so ferrous component is hardly there. should hold up fine to salt air.

The bolt is very nice and heavy. However the bolt carriage is NOT omega shaped like shown in the pictures. The bolt carriage is simply rolled around the bolt and spot welded to the flat base. Why attach a strong bolt and carriage to the heavy base with weak spot welds? A little force and the bolt carriage will separate from the base.

I love the weight of this latch, it's almost to big for my use. However I like this product, finish is excellent, size is intimidating for a criminal, works well for me. Appears to be very strong but I have on experience with this type of product to place a totally unreserved opinion. Strongly recommend

well made, heavy duty hardware. I bought 2 and if the need comes up will buy again. may go for a smaller size the next time but keep the brand.

I recently had a new fence and gate installed. The fence posts were metal and as a result instead of the gate swinging in to open it swings out. I wanted to be able to lock the gate from the inside so I attached the sliding bolt gate lock to the top of the gate and adjacent fence. It works great due to its heavy and well made construction.

I have to agree with the other reviewers that the pictures do not represent the finished product. That said, the Alise 10-Inch Slide Bolt Gate Latch Safety Door Lock with Padlock Hole is solid and worth the price. It is stainless steel so the chrome coating is redundant but it looks pretty.

Bolt to carrier fit is sloppy, if someone went to bashing on the door this was affixed to, it would aid in the failure of this product. Not worth what I paid for it, would not suggest.

It was much bigger and heavier then I thought it would be and it's very study. So, I haven't use it for what I planned on using it for. I'm not planning on returning it because I know I can find a place for it later to use it on. But it's definitely a keeper!
