Beast of a CPU - CPU Processors

Good budget ripper. I was able to get a processor that, with the right cooling, can of course run at 5.1GHz in single-threaded mode. Just don't expect the speed to stay that high, ie. will run so fast within seconds.

Amazing performance as expected.

In combination with the powerful 5950x RAM, it lives up to all the hypes and a few more. Without overclocking I see above average performance compared to other 5950x users. I am using 2 sticks of Corsair 3600MHz CL18 32GB RAM. With full liquid cooling, the maximum temperature is around 60 degrees Celsius. Wait a few months or just spam F5 on the Revain page and press B*y N*w, if like me you're lucky you don't overpay.

Performance crown for computers and accessories

Finally arrived on the 18th day. Absolute beast. The latest BIOS update released on the day I received it fixed a memory issue that would have otherwise rendered this unusable on a Gigabyte X570 Ultra motherboard. Before installing, please make sure this motherboard has at least F31J BIOS installed with the latest software (Utilities Ryzen Master and Gigabyte used). Disable when using Clock Tuner Ryzen (CTR) and remove until supported. I'm not sure how lucky I was to catch one, but I did…

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • I will say nothing

My first CPU was riddled with random WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE BSODs and random reboots. After a major troubleshooting headache, I sent the processor to AMD. The replacement works great now. AMD really needs to figure out their QC. They seem to have released a lot of bad chips. However, the thing is fast. It's hot too. Don't just test it by downloading everything on Prime95. Run 4-8 threads and it gets a lot hotter as it runs as hard as it can. I've seen an 80C+ with a good air cooler and that was…

Pros
  • Able to deliver a stellar performance of 100+ FPS in the world's most popular games
Cons
  • There are downsides

This is the best processor for gaming or 3D design I have ever had.

GSkill (CL16). Compared to the Ryzen 3900X it replaces, my work with Substance Painter is almost twice as fast when it comes to texture compositing. Blender 2.9x performance is also much better, even though the graphics card hasn't changed on my system, especially with millions of vertices when sculpting models. The gaming performance is also excellent with around +15% FPS in Star Citizen (ceteris paribus). ) - for the first time I hit 100+ FPS in SC, which is unheard of at 3900x (most were in…

Defeat the bots - catch them! (BROKEN CPU, FULL WHEA ERROR)

What can I say? My first PC since 2008. I originally wanted the 5900x but this became available and I was lucky enough to purchase it within 15 seconds of being notified of availability. This is an absolute beast and will last me for the next 6-8 years for my trading/gaming/WFH purposes. Now I need a GFX card and I'm good to go. *** Update 01/17/2021 *** I spoke too early. Nothing but WHEA errors APIC ID 18, 19 indicating bad cores. Processor Can't even boot 3800 CL 14 Ram, 3600 CL 16 is barely

Pros
  • For advanced platforms, Socket AM4 can support PCIe 4.0 on X570 and B550 motherboard
Cons
