Works great as a squeegee

I don't even have an AquaClear filter. I just bought them, cut them up, made sponges for the fence and put the unwanted bits in another HOB filter. It works great as a squeegee, although it does turn brown, so black would probably be a better choice. Prevents snails from snagging or being sucked in and keeps food in the tank giving fish and snails more time to feed.

Aquaclear 70 gallon will not fit!

Have been ordering these sponges from Revain for almost 15 years and have never had a problem. This time the 70-gallon sponges were too big β€” and too wide and too long β€” they got in, but it severely reduced water flow β€” gradually trimmed them to fit better, but water flow still decreased. Not sure if the density of the foam is different in this box or if it's a size issue - I suspect this box was a fake - made by Josh's Frogs.

Not the same as the original foam that came with the filter.

Replacement AquaClear 70 foams are not of the same quality as the foam supplied with the AquaClear 70 filter. I used this replacement foam with the one that originally came with the filter (OEM). This replacement foam is less dense and breaks very easily. It's like someone made fake foam earbuds in China and put the AquaClear logo on them. This is truly a shameful product that disappoints and surprises this company.

Easy to double up and combine with BioMax

I'm a fan of the Aquaclear suspension filter; very easy to use and maintain, as well as flexible in media handling. I placed two of these foam liners and two bags of BioMax pellets in my 55 gallon 70 liter tank of Mbuna cichlids (I recently added a second bag of BioMax). This purchase was to replace a sponge that began to fall apart after a few years of use. I was a little surprised they fit, thought I'd have to cut out the sponge. However, there was no more space; I know some people like to…

Goes well with Whisper 60 external line filter

Love these foam inserts. I use them in my Whisper 60 food filter. They provide good mechanical filtration, good habitat for bacteria that clean the water of chemical compounds so they live and last much longer than the bio bags the filter is designed for. And on top of that, these foam trays are significantly cheaper. I use two of these filters in my 125 gallon tank and I think they work great. This is a good, cheap alternative to bio-beads for those who have purchased an aquarium without…
