Description of Aquaneat Sponge Filter Aquarium Accessories

Sponge filter provide both mechanical and bio filtration, also, the air infusion chamber produces minute bubbles which increase the oxygen solubility. Easy to Set up & Clean: Simply install an airline into the unit and turn on the air pump; simply rinse and squeeze sponge in tank water. Recommend Tank Size: Up to 55 gallon, excellent for small size fish like dwarf cichlid, guppy, killifish etc ; or for hatcheries, maternity tanks, and fry tanks, as the filter produces minimal current and has almost no way to suck the fish through the filter. Dimension: 6.5”L x 2.4”W x 9.5”H. Includes: 1 sponge filter, 1 set of accessories: 4 suction cups, 4ft airline tubing,1 control valve, 1 tee, 1 non-return check valve.

Perfect Sponge Filter Set

Well I have a 5 gallon aquarium, it fits in very well although there is some room on the sides. The filtering is very good. I put some duckweed in my tank and all the dead duckweed and roots were sucked into the filter. I can't say anything about the biological filtering because my pool hasn't been used yet. Ordered with all accessories. The suction cups are good, easy to insert when they come loose.

Super easy setup. - Aquarium Pumps and Filters

This is a great little filter for 5 or 10 gallon shrimp tanks where you don't have a lot of waste and don't need a lot of washing power. Shrimp also like to eat the film that grows on their sponges. I would also use it for an aquarium up to 15 gallons only used for growing additional plants, maybe with a fish or two at most. Eg beta version etc. The downside is of course that it is just a floating particle filter. It doesn't decarbonize or remove ammonia, and you need a separate air pump to run

I bought two 55 gallon filters to put in my 20 gallon

. because I'm paranoid. It worked fine but I was growing my plants so I just add pure ammonia to feed the bacteria and change the water from time to time. It has no suction unless what it is is floating right on the sponge, but I shake the water before pumping it out to get rid of the dirt. Lots of superficial excitement. I had to drive my plants because they were scattered everywhere. I could take one and I'm fine, but plan on overfilling my tank a bit.

Great little filter/kid safe

This is a great little filter although like me you don't realize the center tube pops out to increase suction. I'll probably buy a few more when I line up my other small tanks. *Update* After a few months of use: Don't expect to feel or see water being sucked into the filter like some other reviewers did. It works by creating a suction from air bubbles that rise up the center tube instead of from the water pump. But it filters water very well and at the same time saturates it with oxygen. And I

Good quality but doesn't hold sponges

I like this filter but it doesn't hold sponges in place. Most sponge filters have a later top that presses on the sponge; This allows the sponges to move up and down freely on the suction rods. This allows the sponges to be positioned where you expect them to be in the tank, requiring you to stick your hand in if you're not expecting to get the sponge(s) in the correct position. However, this is a plus considering that it is very easy to remove a sponge to clean. As long as you just take out a…

The suction cups leave a rubbery smell.

I bought a pair of these sponge filters for my bettas over a week ago. Upon arrival I noticed a gummy smell when opening both packages but figured that after a thorough rinse everything should be fine. Today I noticed that my betta fish is much less active than usual and stays in the top corner of the tank all morning and the rest of the day. I opened the lid all the way and smelled a strong rubber smell. Also, I put her in a quarantine aquarium with fresh clean water and noticed that her white

Filter not working? I can help!

First of all, given the price, you really shouldn't look anywhere else for a filter. This is 100% the best bang for your buck. I have axolotl so I only use sponge filters. I bought it 2 years ago and one day it stopped working. I figured it was only $8 and lasted 2 years so I bought another one. Well I figured out my problem and now I have filter performance for several days! First check the pipes and air pump. Make sure all hoses are clean, open and having a good flow with no filter attached…
