Description of 🐠 Aquapapa Aquarium Filter Media Bags for Pellet Carbon, Bio Balls, Ceramic Rings, and Ammonia Remover (8"x 5.5" 3-Pack, Black)

Zipper design, reusable; great for use in canister filter system. Mesh holes diameter: 2mm (0.08"). Any particles less than 2mm (0.08") will pass through the bag. This bag is good for holding large media items, such as Pellet carbon, bio balls, bio ceramic rings, lava rocks, zeolite, gravel. NOT for fine, granulated charcoal media. It is NOT intended for use with smaller particle media, such as Seachem Purigen, Seachem Phosguard, Seachem Gel Mix, Marineland Diamond-Blend Carbon/Ammonia Crystal Mix, BRX Rox, Fluval branded activated carbon, GFO/GAC, etc. Above brand name charcoal media will escape from the bag. Bag size: 8"x 5.5". Bag material: nylon. Zipper & pull material: plastic. Includes 3 pcs of mesh bag. Ideal for use in both freshwater and saltwater tank.

Durable and useful item for fish and aquatic animals

Good quality. In use for two months. I use two pouches for Seachem Matrix, which is a fancy pumice stone. The material remains intact. In the third bag I keep the filter thread. The first two times I did a big water change, my filter floss fell out. It spilled all over the tank so last week I put the filament in a bag and now it stays in place and still does its job making cleaning my tank pan that much easier.

Pros
  • Mesh hole diameter: 2mm (0.08 inch). All particles smaller than 2mm (0.08 inch) will pass through the bag.
Cons
  • Functionality

A cheaper solution for ready-made packages!

I love the idea of adding my own carbon instead of buying pre-packaged and wasting and throwing away all that plastic. This is a great alternative and a must have for any aquarium lover in my opinion. Also, in my opinion, buying coal in bulk and filling your bags is the cheaper solution. These bags hold nearly 4 cups of charcoal pellets and are zippered to prevent a lot of debris or bits from falling out. Very well made bags that are quite strong and durable!

Pros
  • Including 3 mesh pockets. Ideal for use in freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
Cons
  • Empty

Giant bags are ideal for ponds!

Perfect for adding zeolite to my pond filters! I have a 1000 gallon indoor pond that needs lots of charcoal and zeolite to keep the water clean and not smelling like fish. The other packs I received were too small and I would need several of these packs for each filter. These bags are big enough that I only have to use one for each of my filters, and the mesh is fine enough that I don't have to deal with a lot of crumbs when filling. Very durable! I am actually buying them for the second time…

Pros
  • zipper design, reusable; Excellent for use in a canister filtration system.
Cons
  • Some bugs
