I work a lot with sanding discs/wheels to shape hardwoods. I thought it would be a useful addition to my arsenal. But it was, well, well. It doesn't seem to require that much material and takes forever to gouge out the mold, perhaps because it's fairly small and has little blade contact. I think if you have to get into a sticky situation without a lot of options, that's fine. I bought this product to clean cavities in tree parts that are usually found near curbs awaiting disposal. Many of these items become unique planters for the home and garden. I am most interested in succulents and orchids. This tool makes cleaning and shaping cavities an easy task. He's not very fast or aggressive, but he does his job very well. I bought it with an Arbortech turboshaft motor, which works better down and around corners.

I've confirmed this by watching some videos from Arbortech and a few other people. It really works in a way that is unique to me and is pretty easy to use. Wood texture will always be wood grain - no tool will cut through it without tearing unless you understand that texture must always be considered - this tool is no different. The planer and mini cutter are great, as is the grinder, but I've found this ball chisel attachment likes to tear through material and leave a rough texture. I make wooden spoons semi-professionally and have previously used a chainsaw wheel to roughen up the shells. This is a very cool alternative. It's not ideal since it's a rotating blade, you need to be aware of the grain, and dry wood is much more difficult to cut than green wood (like any cutting tool).
