Cement-based finishing underlayment. Exceptional bond strength provides a smooth finish to a variety of substrates prior to floor covering. Easy to mix and apply mixes with water only, no primers or additives necessary. True featheredge allows for greater coverage. Will not contribute to staining of floor covering.

Great for a DIY countertop project

I used this for a countertop in a utility room/office. I removed the 1980's laminate top to reveal chipboard/MDF or whatever was underneath. I didn't sand or prep the countertops, I just wiped them down. I applied two thin coats of Ardex top coat and allowed about 10 hours to dry between coats. I used a sanding block after each layer dried. I then cured and sealed (two coats) with acrylic Quikcrete. All in all it took me about 24 hours including drying time and 2 hours of actual work. Used to prepare subfloor to cover leftover scraps, mastic or glue!

In short, we used Ardex Feather Finish to encapsulate the leftover diluted material (mastic, glue, etc.) on the concrete left over from the asbestos tiles in our basement. And it worked great! A little insight: Our first "big" winter project in our new home was cleaning/repairing our pantry in the basement. The floor was partially covered with asbestos sheets. NO SAND method for countertops/table tops

If it helps a craftsman, it's worth it! I would really like to get this information before I start this project. It was EASY and I finished it on Saturday afternoon. After reading a dozen guides on finishing Ardex springs on countertops, I was ready to take the plunge and try on my less risky wooden table that needed a refinish anyway.
