The product is unreliable, it is not worth buying.

We buy this miracle, take a file - we refine it, and only AFTER this we get a more or less working device. A file means an alternative firmware (I settled on dd-wrt). With it - just do completely different indicators and the functionality itself. Vopschem I do not recommend products of this kind from Asus. For at work there are 2 units from the asus (WL-500G and WL-520G) and one from the d-link (dir-300). With asus, there are also permanent problems - and one and the second simply do not…

Pros
  • The only dosinsta - the price, appearance. Bought a long time ago, probably three years ago. In principle, if it's stupid to surf, it's normal.
Cons
  • It can't cope with torrents - the percentage is rather weak, it constantly reboots. Speed cuts on standard firmware. By faff through it within the network, a maximum of 2 - 2.5 Mb / s (not to be confused with Mbps). Over Ethernet - a maximum of 5-6 Mb / s. USB is just a printer. Recently, it refuses to reflash through the admin panel, only through the firmware recovery utility from asus.

The best thing Ive ever used, a great item for everyone!

For a long time I suffered with the standard firmware, then I found an alternative firmware and I am happy with the excellent work, I advise you to take it, a decent flexible and convenient model. figure out the firmware as there is nothing to do, you just need to go to the forum from Oleg and download the firmware and install it and you have an amazing router without glitches.

Pros
  • With an alternative firmware from Oleg, the router works perfectly, the speed is 12Mbps according to the tariff plan. The coverage area is about a kilometer, 600 meters coverage with the ability to work stably at full speed. Convenient and easy to set up, flexible to set up, perfectly copes with 6 computers, 3 mobile phones and a printer! which is very impressive! also, one cannot but rejoice at the ability to connect a printer via USB, a hard drive as a network device. The build quality is very good, nothing creaks or wobbles.
Cons
  • Present when using firmware from asus. underestimates the speed, freezes, does not understand some printers. but it's all fixable :-)

Terrible quality, wasted money.

after a couple of months from the start of operation, it began to overheat - I had to think about additional cooling, then packet losses began (ping with -t shows that about 5-10% of packets are lost, an unstable response from 1 to 1000ms is also observed) multiple reboot helps and then not for long. The network is often lost. On the whole, to put it mildly, I am dissatisfied with this acquisition, especially after the not entirely successful experience with laptops from this manufacturer…

Pros
  • Low price, relatively stable work for the first time
Cons
  • Insufficient cooling Poor quality product

The item was good, I'll recommend it to my friends.

In general, the purchase is satisfied. In general, an ordinary household router for housewives, no more, no less. But I think this miracle could cost less, around 800. Yes, and USB ports could do 2 and not 1. Of course, time will tell and reveal shortcomings, but so far everything is pleasant and satisfied. But it's so nitpicking. As I said during the setup, I didn’t immediately understand, but if you configure it through the WEB interface, then it’s better through Internet Explorer, tk. in the

Pros
  • 1) The price / quality / functionality ratio is optimal. Bought yesterday for 1050. 2) Simplicity and convenience in setup. Setup took no more than 8 minutes. 3) 2022 interface, everything is simply intuitive, there is an assistant and quick setup utilities. True, I did not use them, but I registered all the settings through the WEB interface. 4) Fairly fast with good throughput. Through my provider "flies".
Cons
  • 1) Total 1 USB port. 2) There is no On / Off button. Not critical, but removing the PSU from the network is not always convenient. 3) No VPN server, i. E. only as a client, and then I didn’t dig. my ISP assigns an IP and releases it to the Internet by MAC address. 4) There are problems when working with the WEB-interface through alternative browsers, so to speak. Those. if this is not Internet Explorer, but let's say Opera 12.02, then the pages are loaded for a very long time and the settings are not always saved. With IE, in my case 6.0 everything worked fine.

Not a bad buy, well worth the money.

The only problem I found is related to IPTV - it does not show on the second day via WIFI and that's it (( If you set up a network from scratch IPTV everything works and the Internet and TV and torrents and DC, but only until the reboot. After the reboot, the video starts to "stutter" + the Internet is tightly hung up. The only solution is to turn off the router. This thing happens on any firmware. Voschem decided not to touch IPTV yet, maybe there is no desire to "dance with a tambourine."…

Pros
  • Easy to set up, functional and cheap. For your home WIFI network (almost) that's it!
Cons
  • There are no problems with the router. Rather, it was not until the inclusion of IPTV. Marked white body - well, it's more of a nitpick . ate: on WiFi, the channel is severely cut. I had to tie the main computer with a cord. ate2: After buying TP-Link, I realized that it's not worth my money.

The goods are normal, money is not wasted!

Installed in Zhulebino, Hong Kong. 17-storey building. Provider AKADO, tariff - "AKADO - 8000" Speed of direct/reverse channels, kbps - 8000/1000. Before buying, it did not work with networks, only general vague information that it should work. A couple of days of poking and it works. WAN - "Measured uplink speed: 10080 Kb/s" if that really means anything to anyone. Firmware - 3.1.0.9 (ASUS) reflashed, the router hung up via the WEB-interface, after flashing with the native software utility…

Pros
  • Assembled neatly, pleasing to the eye. Doesn't heat up. Without understanding anything, I set it up. Paired with ASUS WL-167G 10-12m + 2 concrete walls for about a month of work - no problem.
Cons
  • There was and is nothing else.

Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good purchase.

I bought this device the other day in addition to two D-Link DIR-320s due to good reviews and the presence of a USB port for a printer and other "accessories", since the aforementioned D-Link was not found on sale. A nice device for the money, although I did not expect anything else from Asus. The factory firmware version 3 is just chic, everything is in good 2022 and clearly, but still I put r1222 in the old fashioned way due to the need to load HDTV video content on a 2.5 'HDD in my absence…

Pros
  • Stable connection, cold.
Cons
  • So far not found. Perhaps only three tilt positions of the factory antenna, although this does not bother me personally, because I immediately change it to a separately purchased one.

The perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

I bought this strange box in 2022 in Germany to work with the German provider "KabelDeutschland" Everything worked perfectly and wonderfully on the firmware of the second series, then upgraded to the third and everything became even better. In December 2022, living again in 2022, I was looking for a router for Corbina (Hong Kong) for a long time, I decided between D-Link and ASUS, as a result, after reading for a long time and studying all sorts of comments and discussions, I decided to take…

Pros
  • Fast, powerful, reliable, beautiful, functional. Easy to set up for beginners, but can be set up in detail by professionals.
Cons
  • Many scream on the Internet on the forms about Oleg's firmware. And so many people put it on without knowing why. And then they write a lot of "flaws". I also installed it, got 2-3 functions that did not work very well and returned it to my native one from asus. We must understand that if something does not work with Oleg's firmware, then it has flaws. Since ASUStek is not responsible for it. With the original firmware 3.1.0.9RU, no unsolvable problems were found.

A good product, I advise you to try it.

My first router. I bought it and set it up without any problems, having phoned the support service of my operator (I have a LAN), on my native firmware. I highly recommend it just for the first time - the native web interface decides! Since then, it has been working without problems and doesn’t seem to fall, though I don’t play games online and I don’t see it for sure, but I don’t notice any shutdowns in this way. The only minus he stabbed me a full-fledged 100Mbps up to 20 on Wi-Fi and up to

Pros
  • work stability ease of setup
Cons
  • cuts speed

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but it was a pleasant surprise.

Used for about 3 years. As they say, set it and forget it. No glitches and failures even on native firmware. Used 2 cars by cable, 2 by waffle + mobile phones were periodically connected. Always worked perfectly, nothing failed and did not break. Didn't overload at all! The only negative - cuts the speed. On a 100 Mbps connection on the jump, I gave out a maximum of 4Mb via cable, 2Mb via wafer. That is, if you have a tariff up to 30Mbps, the router should do just fine! If you use faster…

Pros
  • Worked flawlessly, no glitches.
Cons
  • Strongly cuts speed

Revainrating 1 out of 5

A complete disaster, definitely did not pass the quality check!!!

I bought the first one, as a result there were problems with the setup, since I managed to connect via cable only 10 times, I managed it. A month later, it began to cut off, I had to reconfigure it (again, the connection was only 10 times), then everything - all the lamps are on, does not react to anything. Under warranty, they changed it to the same one, after a month it also hung forever. Generally disgusting. Moreover, service centers work only from 10 to 18 on weekdays and are located in…

Pros
  • Appearance
Cons
  • does not work

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I don't want to spend my money on this item.

worked for a year, periodically cut down the admin panel window, after solving the issue with the admin panel, he didn’t block the Internet, and so periodically, look - bam there is no access via wi-fi - reboot, bam - again and so all the time . right now, just just stopped distributing the Internet no matter how much it overloaded . reflashed from the official site with the latest version of firewood - it did not help . in general, I throw it away

Pros
  • easily customizable
Cons
  • buggy short service life

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A completely ordinary product, nothing remarkable.

my internet provider has micro outages quite often, and it would seem that this should not be a problem for such a router, but this device does not react at all adequately. With some kind of fright, it declares that my PPPO connection is wrong and refuses to work on it. I have to set dynamic ah pi in the settings (although I don’t have such a thing), then the device says that everything is fine, but the Internet naturally does not work because the connection is wrong. And as a result, the…

Pros
  • distributes far. no micro breaks in communication, walls are not a hindrance to him
Cons
  • terrible software. slow internet speed

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

Previously, there was a D-Link DIR-120, which crashes every half minute when downloading to µTorrent. I suffered with him for a long time, then I called support, where they told me that this one was recommended. Bought. Set up. The problem was only once - when, 2 weeks after the setup, I could not enter the Web interface. Support advised Reset. It worked. Sometimes the truth is buggy, but very rarely, and it is solved in 10 seconds - I pulled out the power cable - plugged it in - and everything

Pros
  • It looks nice, it reboots quickly (sometimes you need it), there are a lot of settings (which I don’t understand a damn thing), but despite this, the setup was successful, well, very quickly and simply, it doesn’t crash because of µTorrent, it works quickly (in my opinion)
Cons
  • not detected

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

It connects perfectly in the bridge mode (hybrid) to its relatives, the grid expands without problems. I did not pay attention to the factory firmware (3.0), I immediately stuck the 7th one - the LAN ports started working on gigabit. Two such routers have been working faithfully for 1.5 years, we just purchased one more, yesterday I set it to bridge mode. Great budget combine for the office

Pros
  • Works correctly with Oleg's firmware (it's offsite at number 7). Doesn't heat up. Printserver, though not all printers holds. You can set speed priorities by poppy addresses.
Cons
  • There is an impression that the speed still cuts. Sees not all usb-HDD. Not very convenient url filter - only by host name, symbols *? does not understand. No whitelist, does not load url lists in one file. Of course, I would like to filter p2p traffic. I didn’t download the ated firmware via tftp, I did it through the web interface - I think that you just need to know how long to hold the reset button, but who reads these instructions))

Best price for this product, will buy more!

So it all started with the fact that I have wl-520gc at home, which quietly presses 5-7 mb / s. over WAN and 10 mb/s over the grid, and it so happened that I moved to another apartment and decided to buy a WL-520gu. He has USB + more RAM. I didn’t use the usual firmware, but immediately started installing DD-WRT as it’s written, it should be installed through the recovery program, I went into XP, turned on the program, but she doesn’t see it, good people wrote about tftp, after which I…

Pros
  • Price, Dimensions, wall mounting, USB
Cons
  • Well, the white color of the meleho is not the topic. you can see the dust

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

This model pleased me, I hung it in the corner at the front door, the network gives to the whole apartment. The laptop catches with a bang through 2 concrete walls! The stationary computer really catches badly, but here it's the Trendnet 444 ub adapter, I changed it to PISI delink and it all worked. I set all the protection settings quickly, the only thing is that only a numeric connection is registered, an alphabetic one may not work, because. character limit in the native interface, but can…

Pros
  • After the "left" firmware, excellent speed, beautiful design, light bulbs do not irritate.
Cons
  • USB can only be used for the printer. After flashing, Oleg began to see flash drives, but the recording does not work, maybe a glitch.

So far, I haven’t really figured it out, but the buggy interface of the settings didn’t please me, things didn’t improve with the flashing (it’s good that it didn’t get worse). For some reason, the computer on lan1 does not see the router, but it climbs into it . somehow strange. Search in p2p, like everyone else, does not plow, which cannot but rejoice (

Pros
  • Almost does not heat up, beautiful, removable antenna. Until I found more.
Cons
  • The buggy interface, which for some reason ceases to be properly displayed over time, is mainly visible to the network map and a small settings window that does not really work. No on/off button.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product, best quality.

The router worked for 3 years on the same settings without a single break and overheating, but once the WAN port burned out during a power surge in the network. I thought that everything had outlived its usefulness, but with the help of an alternative firmware from Oleg and several commands via telnet, I managed to reassign the wan port to another regular lan and now it has a second (I hope long :-)) life.

Pros
  • indestructible
Cons
  • some virtues

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I definitely recommend buying, I didnt notice any disadvantages.

I've been using this router for about two years now. I bought it after I got tired of spitting and wasting my nerves on "Trendnet". Of course, when buying equipment there is always an element of luck, but I was lucky. After buying ASUS, I simply forgot about its existence. Works all the time, never turn off. I constantly download information, incl. through torrents. No noise, no heat. "Range" is enough (I have a one-room apartment). Beeline technical support helped to make the first setting.

Pros
  • Reliable model, good value for money.
Cons
  • It cuts the speed, as, indeed, all routers, (I take this for granted). The maximum download speed from a torrent is 2.5 MB / s
