I used this thing to open a can.

I used this thing to open a can of Dust Off. Using Dust Off to replace 134A refrigerant in a car Search online for details on Dust Off as a refrigerant. I do not advise you to do this. But in Carolina it's mid-July right now. The air conditioning is top notch. This crane was perfect for the project. Has more than paid for itself from the first use.

Works as it should!

Well I like the design of this device. I haven't had a real chance to use it yet. I bought this item primarily for my 1977 Mercedes 300D. It has an outdated AC system which I have absolutely no interest in "upgrading" to R134A. If I finally run out of R12 I will use one of the existing alternative refrigerants. And quite a few of them aren't configured to easily connect to a coolant hose/gauge kit. This device will allow me to do that. I hooked it up to an aerosol can of dust/air in a cannedโ€ฆ

Valve stem too recessed

The valve stem for the R134a fitting was too low in the resulting faucet so the gauge hose I have can't reach it causing the valve to block flow. You may need to remove the core to make it work, or see if another hose has a longer tip so it can open the valve. I tried it on a nearly empty can and it blew out of the seal on the first click. Had to do a second click to get a better seal but it still showed a small leak which was detected by a sensitive electronic refrigerant tester. Everythingโ€ฆ
