Better use something else instead. With drywall anchors, these brackets fit very loosely, so I wouldn't recommend putting a lot of weight on what you're hanging. Overall, they adequately fit my needs and gave my honeycomb floating shelf project the look I was looking for.

What I liked: The concept, it's hard to find a way to make floating shelves without this fastener. I was able to use this fastener to hang 3/4" oak shelves from drywall. What I didn't like: Measurement is key, once you've drilled holes in the back of a shelf it requires accurate placement of the holes in the wall. Paper template, to help installers place holes in shelves and walls.

Drilling straight holes in wall and shelf is critical. I had a Black and Decker drill guide for the walls and adapted the drill press for the shelves. The Batoda hardware can be bent slightly (emphasis on slightly) to fit the shelf holes after the hardware is installed in the wall. We used 1 3/4" thick shelves, a 19/64" shelf hole requires at least 1" thick shelf, preferably thicker. The shelves are well placed and look great.

Looks like good braces but be careful! It says it fits thin shelves and can use 1" lumber, but that's a lie! It's impossible to drill through a 3/4 inch piece of wood with an A 27/64 drill bit without going through the top of the shelf. I just wasted two good pieces of pine trying to make this myself. I bought these brackets to hang a 1 1/16" thick floating shelf/mantel over my fireplace. Studs.
