It's hard to find the right position.

I like this product, but I haven't found a place where the suspension isn't too loose or too tight. Too tight is better than too loose because there's little rebound and no "bounce," but at this point my feet are touching the shock frame uneasily. I think the problem lies in the universal application; maybe stiffer for people over 140 pounds and softer for people less weight would be a more customized fit.

Pros
  • SUSPENSION DEFINITELY DAMPES GROUND IMPACT AND REDUCES BODY IMPACT
Cons
  • Functionality

Simple, high quality and cheap. What's not to like?

I mounted this unit on a hardtail e-bike with fat tires and an oversized seat. I mostly drive on gravel roads, which can be pretty bumpy. I installed the unit upside down to reduce side roll and it worked. Even though I'm only 145 pounds, I set the tension to the heaviest fit. I recently rode 30 miles on a rough forest road and this inexpensive seatpost spring has performed well. Simple, high quality and cheap. What's not to like?

Product is a copy of someone else's design

Very disappointed that this product is a cheap copy of Rinsten's design. I wouldn't have bought it had I known and have since returned it to Revain. Trying to find the correct settings as the instructions sent with the spring were hopeless, I found the correct damper via google. This Splumzer feather was tricky to install and impossible to set up with the instructions that came with it. It was either too soft or too hard or too springy - Rinsten's guidance helped a lot. Save yourself some extra

Works good but be careful

Works fine as long as it works. However, its design gave me concerns from the start due to its extreme susceptibility to metal fatigue issues due to its design, but I chose it anyway based on the good reviews. However, after about 3,000 miles of driving (I weigh about 155 pounds) the spring failed and burst while driving, which could very easily lead to a serious accident. I'm lucky, but it's not worth the risk to me. I have a second one on a different bike but I will take it off and throw it…

Pros
  • EASY INSTALL BETWEEN THEM WITHOUT REPLACING SEAT OR SADDLE
Cons
  • Slightly dented

After a few rides it was bent and turned into scrap

Although I only ride my bike occasionally this junk was bent and now unusable and was removed and thrown away. After I wrote the original review, the manufacturer contacted me and offered a full refund should I change my review. Well I thought I changed it (I think I forgot to click SAVE at the bottom of the page). Now the manufacturer emails me several times a day and persuades me to change the rating. OK, here are the 3 stars you DON'T DESERVE! I'm 6ft 3in and 260lbs: too much for this spring

retinaman speaks well and works

This is a good value item that I added to my road bike. At 70, I care more about comfort than time trial speed. what you need to know If your current seatpost is angled more than a few inches from the top of the post, you won't be able to set the entire rig low enough. Even if you cut off part of your rack, it still won't sit on the bike around the corner. I had to search my stack for another straighter stance. Also know that this thing does not move up and down in a pure vertical. works a bit…

Pros
  • FOR VARIOUS BIKES ESPECIALLY ROAD AND MOUNTAIN BIKES
Cons
  • Not bad but...

[UPDATE 4/24/21: Still works and looks good.] No problem with my weight. On the scale, the stiffness stays at 1 point, but I would prefer 0.5-1 point softer. I like it! Just took a ride and adjusted the settings. I still feel great on the road. I went through a couple of 2-3 inch hits without leaving my seat to test the cushioning. If I stay where I am at my weight, the impact can travel up the seat tube, seatpost, saddle and right into my spine. But it was smooth. I felt a hit, but no hit or…

Pros
  • 4000 UNITS SOLD WORLDWIDE!! IT WAS PUBLISHED IN "BiCYCLE CLUB JAPAN JANUARY 2020" MAGAZINE!!
Cons
  • vulgarity

Having looked at this thing from many angles, it seems to me that those looking at this unit's setup requirements when installing have waived, have completely missed the point. Boot, but enough about stickiness or lack of it: 1. The item arrived at PacNW in two days, packaged well enough, with no damage.2. The only negative - mind you at first; I'll update the review when future assaches rear their ugly heads - I found the measurement markings on both sides upside down - Read: zero on one side…
