Should be in stock best in Shocks

I replaced them on my 2016 F150, I only had 16,000 miles so the stock shocks weren't too bad for everyday use. I bought the truck brand new and when I first pulled our trailer I was amazed at how much better it pulls than our 2010 F150. After several tows, the situation quickly deteriorated and many dolphins appeared. It took me more time to remove the fender liner than it did to replace the shocks. Normal daily driving might not notice the change, even though towing is day and night. No more…

Easy installation of some great shocks!

Installation was pretty easy. Make sure you have an 18mm deep socket and 18mm wrench. It took a little longer than I expected since I installed the Husky Wheel Well Liners. Tried to get by without them but found it too difficult to get to the top screws without them. All in all, after finding some tools, it took me about an hour to go to Home Depot (10 minute walk) to find the above tools to complete the installation. I have about 29,000 on my 2017 F-150 XLT SCREW. After installing the Bilstein

Drive like new again!

I have a 2015 Lariat F150 FX4. According to reading online, factory shocks typically fail at around 40,000 miles. I have 44,000 miles and the ride was noticeably worse than when I started. It was very stiff and bounced uncomfortably hard on the freeway, and big bumps had me flying out of the seat. It got to the point that my wife didn't like sitting in the truck anymore. I ordered front and rear shock absorbers. The rear ones came first and deployed them in about 30 minutes. After day one, the…

Big shock! Much better than OEM F150

Amazing rebound control in BOTH directions. Really tamed my 2018 F150 4x4 Super Crew Cab especially when towing a 7500 lb trailer. Very satisfied. On this 67-year-old car, it took about 45 minutes to replace both without having to jack up the car or remove the wheels. THANK YOU FORD! The front struts are spiral, each takes about 1.5 hours and costs about $125 each. I think I'll do it before winter. These shock absorbers were recommended to me by a Helweg Suspension representative at a…

Nice upgrade over the stock F150 shocks with some caveats

Installed on my 16 year old son's 2018 F150 FX4 with tow pack. Very easy installation but the mechanic did it because I didn't want to peel my knuckles. It took him 15 minutes. The truck did not have to be raised and the rear wheels removed to install these dampers. Stock shocks replaced when truck has driven 5,000 miles. The OEM shocks were really quite low quality. The OEM shocks were weak and I was able to compress and expand them easily after removing them. With the Bilstein installed, the…

Good investment for F-150 owners

Installed this Bilstein 5100 on the back of my 2018 F-150 Super Crew a few days ago. There is a noticeable difference in truck driving that I felt immediately. The back of my truck has been what I can only describe as "jerky" since I bought it 2 months ago. The bumps weren't absorbed, and the rear end always felt like it wasn't laid on the bumps. With the Bilstein installed, the rear end now absorbs small bumps so I don't feel them, the wheels stay planted on medium bumps, and on big potholes…

I'm happy with this upgrade

F150 drove ideally as I wanted it to when I bought it new. After driving 17,000 miles, which includes about 1,200 tows, normal daily driving, and the occasional full load, I've noticed the truck getting sloppy/floating, especially on rough pavement. Based on my previous experience with Bilsteins, I was a bit nervous. On the originally stiff 1st gen TRD Tundra they were still quite stiff and seemed to make the rear end even stiffer in some ways. I liked that the new F150 was manageable at first…
