Good price (but NOT STAINLESS as advertised)

I have these and brake cables which work fine but are NOT STAINLESS (they are magnetic). These are steel cables and the ends may need deburring/casting, but they work very well for a very modest price (local shop sells brake/shift cables for $5 each). Would recommend but don't buy if you need stainless steel cable./aw

Good price and product

Shift cables are very expensive to buy individually so this $10 pack of 10 is a great value for anyone who loves working on bikes. All you really want from a standard shifter cable is that it doesn't break or wear out. They obviously don't get fancy covers, but they work just like a shifter cable and work fine on a lot of my bikes.

I used a dremel to cut off the excess length. Others use a flashlight to loosen part of the cord and then use clippers. I have large diameter wire cutters that work as well, but I can't find them, so Dremel is the next safest option. Using paired pliers is an option but a nuisance with an increased chance of…

Too short to get to my RD.

My frustration with these cables probably has more to do with how painful it was to thread my SRAM switches. found that the cable was about 2 inches shorter. Another 2 inches would be the minimum to work with, actually it was about 3 inches less. I am now 6ft 4" and have a very large bike. I'm not too surprised when things like this happen. But I need a bike to get to work and a cable that was too short ruined my night. Tomorrow I will go to LBS to get what I need. Although they appeared to be…
