Works well and lasts

This is the second one I have bought and both have worked well. I had the first one for about two and a half years, and eventually one of the little plastic clips on the back broke off. In fact, it still worked, but was a little wobbly. Considering they're in my hot car all day and how much I use it, I'm not surprised it broke. Bought a second one and it works great too. A word of caution: if you put it on top of a vent, the weight of your phone can lower the vent, making it difficult…

Works well but in GPS accessories

I bought one of these from Best Buy a few years ago and it did exactly what you'd expect: it held my phone comfortably and securely. However, I eventually broke it by accidentally hitting something a few weeks ago. Oddly enough, I'm glad it broke because if it didn't, it would be the air vent it was attached to in my car. Since I liked the model very much, I decided to go for the same one. Unfortunately when it arrived the button that extends the arms on the side didn't work. In my case this…

Breaks easily into car mounts

I've bought 4 GWM-262 mounts and 1 PHV-202 mount in the last two years and the device mount didn't last long - I've given up. Either the gears on the clamp fail or one of the clamps breaks and I'm not rough on the device. Not sure if the sun is making the plastic brittle or if putting the phone back into the unit will cause it to crash. In winter, the suction cup on the GWM-262s fails and the mount falls off; almost impossible to put back on the windshield. This is especially great when you're…

Works great: GPS, viewfinder and accessories

I have an older model of this unit, not the same brand but with the same mechanics and it still works after years of use. My original model has a button on the back to release the side arms and the arms are spring loaded on the ratchet so the arms move apart. There is a small button on the lower right side of this model to unlock the levers BUT you need to press the button multiple times and the levers will release in small increments with each press. I haven't decided yet if I like the fully…

Super Cell/GPS mount for your car

This is my second Bracketron purchase, the first was from Radio Shack. I'm sorry poor old Radio Shack has gone down badly for not buying my replacement there, but is it really $35 at Radio Shack, only $12 at Revain? I'm saving for retirement, folks, give me a break. Anyway, I like this device because it runs on my vent instead of hanging down or standing on a suction cup. I know from bitter experience how quickly these suckers lose their suction power; I won't risk breaking a $200 smartphone. I

Great for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with case

Great third time! I've tried both the USA Gear Universal Car Air/AC Vent Mount XL and the Mountek nGroove Universal CD Slot Mount. The USA Gear mount doesn't hold the phone with my Ionic Guardian case and the mountek sits too far away for me to see the screen clearly as I use it for GPS (although I really like it as it was very sturdy ). . However, this one is great! Spring clips grip the vents and hold them in place. Note that the mount will move up and down a bit as you move it since the base

Works *almost* in every car

I've bought four of these so far. One for my car and one for my wife, one that I keep in my holdall and have used in rental cars across the US, and one that may still be sitting forgotten in a rental car in Lexington, Kentucky. Overall, this is a really useful gadget for almost any car. It attaches to the air conditioner vents fairly easily and I've never had a problem with it falling off or breaking. It's perfect for using my phone as a GPS or listening to music. The only downsides are: 1)…

Better than a fine for using a portable device.

I like the location of this unit even though this is my second car. Auto to handle my device. A ground unit was not an option. It's the perfect accessory to carry your mobile phone while driving, even if you don't use it for GPS or Escort Live! California, Nevada and other states will issue you a ticket if you use your phone while driving, and hanging your phone in a holder puts you at less risk of ticket violation than holding it to your ear while talking. I've never used the clip in…

Pros
  • Spring loaded locking mechanism
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about this unit everything is fine

Very good product - recommended!

Bought for my Samsung S3. It actually works pretty well and fits in the air vent on my 2012 Ford Explorer. It took a bit of TLC to properly hook into the vents (you need to make sure the hooks grab the back of the vents); but in general the process went smoothly and without any problems. Don't force anything and that's fine. This is my first vent mount and compared to suction cup mounts I would buy one anytime. Suckers have never worked reliably for me. And since it's in place, it doesn't seem…

Pros
  • Attaches to your vehicle's air conditioning/heating vent and protects your device.

Great air vent mount for my wife's samsung focus

I have a brother of this mount, the PHV-200-BL mount for me and I liked it so much I bought it for my wife bought . Great universal mount for smartphones and small portable navigation devices. We use it in a 2010 Toyota RAV4 with a Samsung Focus. Pros:+ The vent mount works great: two adjustable, spring-loaded hooks at the top, a pivoting mount at the bottom that rests against the bottom edge of the vent (dash). ).+ The stand is well padded and easily adjustable in width to securely hold your…

  • Compatible with all horizontal air vents
