🍽️ Breville BOV800CB Smart Oven Bamboo Cutting Board Review

If you own or plan to buy a Breville Toaster then this is an absolute must have. Without them you risk burning your hands. This piece of wood is perfect for the top of the stove and will protect you from severe burns. The top of this oven doubles as a heater so you can imagine what could happen. Otherwise I wouldn't buy this item, especially for $50. I give 5 stars because it does its job well and makes the toaster so much better.

So glad I bought this at the same time as the Breville oven. My top cabinet is a little lower than some others, 6.5 inches from the top of the stove to the bottom of the cabinet, so it greatly reduces heat entering the cabinet and looks nice. I use it to keep a couple of hot pads handy for removing cooked food. It's a bit more expensive than what I usually pay for a cutting board, but I don't use it as such. I think it's cheap "insurance" for my top "health" closet.

This is a nice chopping board but definitely made for the 800. I have the new 900 and based on the comments I decided to buy it for my 900. It fits front to back but not the side. The 900 oven appears to be a "groove" longer than the 800, so the cutting board does not sit squarely in the center of the oven, but is offset (either to the left or right) by about 1-1/2 inches. a bit unbalanced but i'm sure it will be ok, just wish they had one to match the 900.

Breville currently sells three versions of this cutting board for different ovens and depending on where you look they may be labeled differently. This is BOV800CB which is suitable for Smart Oven Air Fryer. I bought it to put all the small toaster trays on. It's quite expensive for this type of use, but I couldn't easily find the right size. It fits perfectly into the small recesses on the top of the oven and prevents pans from slipping, scratching the surface, getting hot or falling off. This

Basically I think it's insulation for the top of your oven so you don't burn what you put on it. When exposed to heat, the upper cabinets are deformed or damaged. This way you can constantly pile junk on top of your stove (none of my business) while still having adequate ventilation in the stove. This is an attractive board, not very thick but well designed. This is a MUST for the Breville Smart Oven. I don't use it as a cutting board, but as a place to store things on the oven: a pizza stone, a quarter-sheet baking pan, and pieces of parchment paper and aluminum foil that are precut to fit the baking sheet. The board has legs that are designed to withstand the heat from the top of the kiln and securely hold the bamboo 1/2 inch above the kiln.
