Worked great on an Intek 205 5.5 HP

Exactly what I needed and at the lowest price. One thing that confused me is that when I looked up my model, type and engine code it said to use a different cap which required a new launcher cap. The motor didn't have this so I decided to replace it with this one.

Cons
  • Not the best

Wrong gas cap!

I bought this gas cap thinking it had been accidentally run over by my husband with a lawnmower. It didn't fit and despite going to the hardware store where we bought the mower, we couldn't find a suitable plug. It's good quality, but I lost $8 because I would have to pay for the return shipping, which would make the purchase price even higher.

  • Pleasant to use

Perfect replacement

I don't like to be without my local shops but none have a large parts inventory and I could get them online much quicker. I found my engine model number and the cover piece which was a genuine B&S part and fitted perfectly. I don't understand reviewers who would buy a part based on "it looked like it would fit" and then complain when it didn't. Find the part number and order the right one!

Good gas cap: Caps

I recently bought a used wood chipper and after changing the carb the unit ran for about 5 minutes then sneezed and stopped. I eventually found out that the problem was that the existing gas cap was defective. There was no ventilation hole on the inside of the lid. When I started the engine, a vacuum was created in the tank, preventing fuel from flowing into the carburetor. I ordered this cap. Problem solved. The engine runs like a champion. I never looked back

Not the best material

I use this on a snow blower my old cap was torn so I order a new one open it from the box everything is so good never took it off until about 2 weeks than I was at my camp where I screwed my snow blower on the lid to make sure there was no more fuel and when I opened it the round metal plate came loose from the lid with only the rubber grommet coming loose from the lid which I had to fish out, I'm trying to put it back together and the metal plate doesn't stay on the lid, it keeps coming off…

Nice cap but B&S might post better replacement charts

Will not fit the threads or fuel inlet on my B&S engine as this cap is intended to replace an older model. Gasoline drips around it no matter how hard I try to set it. The cast threads are obviously higher pitched than the original cap and not deep enough to engage enough threads on the neck to tighten the cap. Since the original OEM cap is no longer available I'm going to squirt a drop of RTV in the bottom of the throat canal and hope for the best, but to be on the safe side I can only fill my
