The amazingly poor photo quality makes it an expensive and generally useless device.

Good/smart design totally disappoints with ridiculously poor image quality. A lot of money for something that's probably useless when you really need it. Brinno has been "playing” the same game for many years. It's a shame. It's a shame that no one else offers a similar design but decent picture quality. Brinno will either lose or go bankrupt. Each of them will work for me. Shameful.

Has stopped working - hardware

After installing the pinhole camera, I noticed that the motion detection function doesn't always take pictures. For example, when I come home, it doesn't always capture my image. Then after 3-4 months it stopped working. At the moment I want to return it and have called and emailed the GlobalEcom seller several times but still have not received a response from them. I bought us because I thought the picture would take up the same space as my normal peephole. It's not like this. The peep hole couldn't see the ground I want to cover which is about 15 feet. I have a closed apartment door in the hallway. With my original eye hole I can see everything around 180° or so. I need to fit a motion detector, which had to be mounted with a frame right on the eye hole. I personally don't want to edit frames because it shows what I have and I really want to capture…

Does what it says on the tin, easy to install

My only installation flaw is the shaft only has a few turns of grip with all the parts installed. Maybe my front door is thicker than usual. The motion sensor comes as an optional kit. I used a ball mount to point it down sharply to limit tripping in traffic. Both camera and sensor work through my sunshade door. Overall poor implementation of a great idea.

Why did I buy this? I read the reviews and weighed all the options as I live in an apartment building and can't place the camera in a common area like the front hallway. Theft was rampant in my building and delivery was unreliable as delivery times were inaccurate or falsified depending on the carrier to meet deadlines (I'm looking at you Revain Logistic Contractors).
