Works for me, but. on Safety & Security

I first read all the negative comments and realized the main problem was that people were using TOO MUCH of this stuff. BAD PLAN. "When little is good, more should be betterโ€ does NOT work in this case. Also, take a little care to put it where you DON'T want it. Too thick and it won't set quickly and may flake with use. It's very easy to work with when wet, but when it dries it's no problem, a toothpick removes it easily. Oh my God! So many warnings? RELAX. the stuff works great if you use aโ€ฆ

Helps but not ideal

I have an old remote control with a bunch of buttons that barely work. I applied this thing to these buttons, and then the buttons didn't work at all. After reading some reviews here I removed the coating I had just applied, mixed the contents of the bottle and tried again. Now the buttons work a little better than before, but still not very well. One of the problems with mixing CaiKot 44 is that the bottle is so small - you have to use a toothpick to stir it and a lot of coating is wasted.โ€ฆ

Repaired my Resmed S8CPap

I had problems with the CPAP machine and the power button. It was a membrane button, and it had to be pressed very hard and tilted at the right angle to turn it on or off. I know these things cost $1 billion to fix, so I went to YouTube University and found a guy talking about fixing his S8 CPAP machine. I look at the video, he said this is the material he used. I thought why not give it a try, it looks easy and quite cheap. I'm not the most agile guy in the world, but it was easy and workedโ€ฆ

  • No automatic

There was a remote control with a few buttons that were unreadable. Is always. I drew this on the keyboard following the instructions. I gave it enough time to dry (overnight). Reassemble the remote and now the buttons work about 80% of the time. A noticeable improvement, but it doesn't (at least on this remote I have) bring its performance up to that of a new one. Buttons on the remote that were a bit unstable (around 50% work) now work 100% of the time. If I had a broken remote, this would be

Better just clean the pins and board 90% IPA

Failure mechanism (button needs to be pressed too hard) I've found with all my well maintained remotes that I have oily deposits on the conductive rubber pads that contacting the printed circuit board (PCB), and oil deposits on the corresponding pads on the printed circuit board. I don't know if this is due to skin oils getting into the rubber or more likely oils leaving the rubber as it ages. In any case, whatever the cause of this oil spill, once it starts, it will not stop. Because of this I

Fixing Your Unresponsive Logitech Remote

I have an old Logitech Harmony 520 remote that I bought about 5 years ago. Recently the button to change "devices" has become unresponsive, and for it to work I had to press very hard several times at different angles for it to register. I tried cleaning the contacts but that didn't help at all and I was pretty determined to pick up another Logitech remote. However, this seemed like a waste of time and I came across a website that mentioned using CaiKote 44. Using the included swab, I applied a

Worked well, but you have to be careful.

I've seen a few reviews that said "It didn't work at all." I think I know why. At least on my RCA console, the circuit board traces are not protected by a coating. This means that ANY overflow, when the mixture is not supposed to hit the rubber diaphragm, will cause a short and cause the remote to shut off. it happened to me I had very little excess but not zero. After I assembled the remote it was completely dead. Out of a hunch (I'm an electrical engineer) I took it apart again and carefullyโ€ฆ

Throw away everything but the silver ointment bottle

I didn't even get to the point where I could figure out if this material would help my use case. Two types of applicators come with this item and both are junk. The first is a plastic stick with a cotton sock on one end, and the manufacturer didn't even bother (or maybe not with common sense) to glue the sock. They call this youthful prank the "lint-free applicator." After pressing about 3 buttons the sock started to slip off and I had to decide between just throwing it away or putting silverโ€ฆ
