I have to tell you that I was disappointed with the full two step process. I still have black streaks on the sides of the van. I thought that after cleaning and sealing the roof I would see an improvement. The cleaner didn't seem to remove much, and the unit is less than two years old so it didn't need to remove scale for several years. You could probably have the roof cleaned with regular $1 store-bought cleaners.

I used this product for the first time last fall. Step 1 cleared the roof well. Step 2 was easy and made the roof very slippery. This spring I checked the roof and it's all dirty with black circles all over the roof. Step 2 The protector has trapped so much dirt that I can't remove it. I would never use this again. In the spring my roof was pretty clean. Not now! BEWARE!

I should have listened to the negative reviews. The app was very boring and twice the size of an app (obviously). The worst is the black bars. I've hand scrubbed the whole block twice and every time it rains they come back. They come off completely with a soft lime, but the water from the roof contracts the product, leaving horrible stains. Bought this to use on my van. But my son used it on his first. After seeing its use. I would say this stuff worked very well. The first step is to wash the RV roof. As soon as it dries.
