I bought it because I wanted something that could easily fit in my pocket, that I can travel with, but still take better pictures than my phone. Great little camera. Honestly, if you want the highest image quality in the smallest profile possible, this camera is for you. Should I update the original? I think it depends on what's important to you. If you think you're going to use some in-camera raw processing and more in-depth customization of Picture Styles, it's something to consider.
