Disappointing. on microscopes

Disappointing. I use these scopes in manual mode to inspect the edges of knives while sharpening. I was hoping for better depth of field, greater zoom range, and better software than my Celestron 5MP or $20 Chinese device. There is no such happiness. The depth of field could be a bit better, but the software is the worst. No full screen, no measurement tools. Other scopes can focus on two different magazines to the plane of the face (I use this finish to hold the edges with my hands). This one…

Great microscope for curious kids and adults.

We bought this item for our 9 year old son for Christmas. He showed an interest in science and we found some old slides that belonged to me when I was a kid. He was excited, we hooked it up to his computer and he could go through the slides and enjoy seeing what he couldn't. naked eye. Pros: 1) Easy installation - the software could be downloaded from the internet with a quick google search (which worked fine as the first computer didn't have a CD-ROM drive to boot from the media that came with

Another model zpix 200 has a higher resolution I think

Thing is great my daughter loved it right out of the box and kept bringing things to put underneath. Comes with drivers for Windows and Mac. I'm not sure if there are any 3rd party drivers for Linux, it's possible since it's basically a webcam. The resolution of this 640 model is 640 x 480 or 0.3 megapixels. Carson also builds the 740. The exact resolution is not specified anywhere, but is said to be 1.3 megapixels; maybe it's equal to 1280x1024 (probably). Carson must specify both models in…

Really good product and at this price? Make no mistake

The first thing you should know. If you want to photograph the whole coin, this isn't the camera you want. Plus, you can photograph more than just coins. Coming back to this scope, I bought this to show coin details, coin errors etc and it works great, photos and videos are taken well and quite nicely. Want bigger, better, bigger pictures? Spend the big bucks on the typical microscope and standalone video app, but I'm telling you, for just over $40, you can't go wrong. You must be very happy…

Really Great - Camera & Photo

I bought a cheap microscope (non-digital) from ToysRUS for more than I paid for it and my kids lost interest within a day. So far they liked it a lot because it was displayed on the computer. My daughter used it for her first high school biology job and included photos of insects she had taken (by capturing the images on a computer and pasting them directly into her document). Like the train set, I loved playing with it, the price couldn't be lower! UPDATE: Just a quick update. While this…

Nice little microscope if you need a magnification of 26x to 130x

This is a nifty little microscope camera for use at magnifications of 26x to 130x. It works well and the software is easy to install and use. The fine print is what you need to know about what magnification you want for your particular application. I read the reviews and became aware of stamp collecting. I was looking for something to collect coins so I decided to give it a try. I found that the lowest magnification is too high for a first look at the coin. You will never be able to see the…
