Description Other

The received bottle says 'vegetable oils' (plural) but Revain's description and website say the oil is made from fractionated coconut oil. It may be the same, but the bottle is different.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Still not sure: Cookware

I'm still not sure about this product. First, note that even using it at 350 degrees produces a lot, I repeat, a lot of smoke. I've only done two coats so far, but it doesn't seem to add any real flavor.

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Nothing here

Smoke It Now!: Cookware

DO NOT USE THIS TO SEW CAST IRON! It was a waste of money. This oil produces a lot of smoke even on low heat. I would definitely not recommend to anyone and would never buy again. A good spice oil should never burn quite as quickly or produce as much smoke as it does. In the middle of winter I had to air the whole apartment.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Just what we need for our well-seasoned house!

I've heard that linseed oil is best used in our cast iron skillets. Considering we use ours every day with a family who cooks almost all meals at home, I wanted to step up our care for our beloved Lodge pans. That was excellent. We simply give the pan a quick scrub with hot water and then place the pan on a hot stovetop to dry it quickly, all the while wiping off a drop or two of this oil with a paper towel.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • too stupid

Suitable for kitchen and dining room

I use a small microfiber cloth that I keep in a zip-top bag next to my cast-iron cookware. After each use, I put a few drops of oil on the surface and rub it down with the same oil-soaked cloth. It's as simple as it gets. I've been using another product that comes in a solid pen for a while and was looking for something more economical thought I'd give it a try. It's easy. Over time we'll see how it works.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor problems
