Cat Eye Velo 9 Wired Bike Computer

I liked the numbers on the display which are big enough to see and the simplicity of the display. I like to see how fast I'm traveling and how far. It was easy to set up. It would be helpful to have some printed instructions along with pictures for detailed sizing. For example, I skipped 3 images showing 205 with the left half of the bracket and the right half covered by the mode button image. I looked at these images a few times before realizing that these are default detail settings that canโ€ฆ

Fantastic and easy even for the novice installer

Fantastic product. I was a little apprehensive about the installation because I had never installed it before, but the instructions were very clear and I was able to install it quickly and easily using just a few common tools you have at home. One piece of advice I would give is to make sure you are very happy with the zip ties before tightening them down. I made the mistake of tightening one of them before it was in position and had to use a blade to cut it off to take it off. If I had gone aโ€ฆ

Reliable good price

Very happy with the Velo 9 purchase. Large easy to read display. Easy setup thanks to flowchart instructions. I put this on a Trek 29er and used the bike computer app to compare the readings. Speed and distance were within 0.01 miles of each other in 1 mile, which is accurate enough for my needs. The kit included a lot of small zip ties, especially when you wrap the cable around the brake cable. Installing the magnet was easy, but it took a little while to get it in the right place. Great basic bike computer for exercise bikes

I bought a Cat Eye Velo 9 bike computer to use on a bike. This, along with the ELECFIND magnets (disk: 10 x 3mm) replacing the one that came with the Velo 9, has performed exceptionally well. Everything needed for installation is included. Including bike computer, bracket, wire sensor, battery, wheel bolt magnet, cable ties and instructions. The Velo 9 has a wired sensor which I chose to minimize the batteries. The speed sensor does not require a separate/additional battery, it uses a commonโ€ฆ

Works great easy to install and read

I bought this for use with a stationary bike as it's obviously hard to tell how 'far' I'm going so is my main concern is the time and the odometer. not speed, calories burned or whatever. Since I'm using it with a trainer, I have the sensor on the rear wheel, not the front wheel. The cable isn't long enough to get to the handlebars but long enough to put it on the top tube where I can look down and see it (I wouldn't recommend this if you're using it outside on the bike, but I'm not very afraid

Using the Velo 9 as a cadence sensor

UPDATE 08/15/2020: To read your cadence directly, set the wheel circumference to 166 cm. Magnets are only needed on one spoke of the sprocket. 8.6 km/h on the display corresponds to 86 rpm. I found it easy to read on the Velo 9. According to a hack I found online, I use my Velo 9 as a cadence sensor. I use a sensor to detect the magnets mounted on the smallest front sprocket on my bike. When setting up the Velo 9: - select km/h as the speed unit - if you have a four-spoke chainring, enter 208โ€ฆ
