Don't waste your time for beginners

The long bolt that goes through the starter motor is stripped and had to be welded on to keep it from spinning freely. The cog doesn't pop up every time like it should

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Some little things

Not returnable

This item is not a valid part. Called to return the number but it's no longer available. Very disappointed with this process. Even the return label has a non-return number. Nobody to even try to get the right part with.

Pros
  • Starter & Parts
Cons
  • Not as thick as other kits

The gears on the shaft are not properly designed

Bendix does not turn the flywheel. Structural defects on the shaft. I removed the Bendix drive and finally found a washer that would fit to increase the space and it still works now. You would think they would fix this on a BRAND NEW STARTER

Pros
  • Spare parts
Cons
  • Sparse instructions

Good engine but Bendix does not work as intended

This starter has a design flaw that prevents centrifugal force from causing the bendix to lift and engage the starter. The starting shaft is beveled and keeps the bendix down. The engine was powerful but could not serve its purpose.

Pros
  • Starter
Cons
  • Useless functions
