Wonderfully simple, for standard balls

Great! This is a simple wooden bracket that consists of two parts. If it's too light and keeps moving, just go to Ace Hardware/Walmart and use E600 glue to attach the weight or large washer to the bottom.

  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Endlessly slow

Works great, albeit unweighted.

Perfect size for cakes and balloons; Be careful with pressure on the base of the nostapin when inserting it into the balls as mine made a crackling noise although there is no visible damage - the wooden washer/mount is glued to the nostapine stem with a hole in it the stem is drilled to rotate/rotate on the base inserted into the nostapine with smaller dowel. Spins freely and smoothly with no glitches! Unweighted, so if your skein contains a knot or a "wool baby" it will slip off your table.

Spins smoothly for yarn

I love this little thing. I recently got myself a handheld yarn winder because it's more convenient and quicker than winding balls of yarn by hand, but I didn't like how the center pull cakes start to flop. It is an ideal tool for pulling yarn outside. Cake. As long as you just let the yarn feed in as you work, rather than pulling on the length, I haven't had too many issues with yarn snagging and wrapping around the bottom. I simply take off the upper part and pull the coiled thread from the…

Disappointed good for knitting and crocheting

I really wanted to like this product. I bought two of these and thought it would be useful for my two tone crochet projects where I needed to use one color or the other in the work. The wood is smooth, turns easily and I found it relatively stable (when working properly). However, my yarn (which I pull from the outside of the skein) continues to wind between the base of the top section of the spindle and the bottom base on the spindle, meaning I have to keep stopping to get it out. If you pull…

Very handy little device that I never thought of

Handy little vacuum! A Thanksgiving family project was to dye some white sock blanks with unsweetened Kool Aid, which was fun. Then I had to use a ball roller to make "cakes". Everything was going well until I somehow became the world champion in yarn over 1/2 skein when knitting straight from the skein. After 3 days of profanity and patience I wrapped a new ball and centered it on this spinner and finished the entire pair of socks with no problems or a bad word. I have the center in the yarn…
