I filled the filter completely with freshly ground Starbucks very dark roast espresso beans. I filled it with water and left it in the fridge for 24 hours. At this point I took it out to stir in the filter with a chopstick. I tried the coffee this morning and it's SUPER WATER. Completely tasteless. I'm going back to the French press method. I really thought it would work, but it doesn't. If you like a good strong drink then don't buy this.

Ideal for making cold coffee. I just leave the filter on as it's easier to clean and store. The collapsible funnel and scoop are helpful, as are the helpful brew PDFs sent in their follow-up emails. I use 4 cups of cold water for 4-1/2-5 scoops of ground coffee and wait anywhere from 12-24 hours, despite the directions saying 8-12 hours and a medium grind. No major complaints, this device makes a decent cup of cold drink. It's not rocket science, you just have to put the beans in water in the fridge overnight. Being glass, the pitcher doesn't absorb paint/odours like plastic, but it's also very heavy. I've tried this cold drink for the past two weeks and am disappointed. In theory this design is a great idea, but in practice the center chamber either has too little surface area for cold brewing when using a near-ideal amount of grist, or if less grist is used to allow for movement of the grist within the chamber allow , the infusion is too weak. I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality when I opened the box. for one. Has a glass container. This is the most important part. I don't want a plastic container as it will scratch over time and the coffee will soak into the surface. Not to mention the container doesn't look as cool after everything is scratched.
