Great, simple cadence sensor!

I use it to monitor my cadence on long training rides. I like knowing for sure that I'm always spinning at the same rhythm and knowing if I'm getting lazy or starting hard. A very easy way to keep track of where you are spinning. I definitely recommend it and can't believe more people haven't bought it.

  • Satisfied so far

Terrible cycle computer battery life

I don't know why they have such positive reviews. They eat batteries like crazy. I ride about once a week and the battery only lasts 3 weeks. Removing the sensors and changing the battery is cumbersome. There's no on/off switch, so they're always "on" and the batteries drain too quickly. It's great when they work, but the battery issue renders them completely useless. Most of the time I drive with an empty battery.

Cheap Doesn't Equal Value

Most BT sensors go into sleep mode after a period of inactivity. These sensors work all the time. The first set died on the shelf after two weeks because my bike was in the store. I thought they were defective so I replaced them. That's when I realized they were always on. The only way to turn it off is to remove the battery, which is a hassle to install on a bike. XOSS denied me support because I bought I. Revain and not their site. What you save on purchase is spent on batteries.

Low cost, works well.

Once you figure out that the red or blue LEDs represent cadence and speed sensor settings, these little guys work fine. I use a set (one as a speed sensor, one as a cadence sensor) with a Garmin 810 GPS navigator. It works well and is less than $20 each. After about 6 months, the rating changes to 5 stars. I had to change the batteries in the sensors once, but they worked fine for over 1,700 road miles on my bike. Great, reliable device. I bought a cheap Fluid Trainer for the winter, added an…

Too thick to easily fit on the handle.

It's really thick as the cadence sensor is too thick to fit in my Shimano Ultegra crank, it hits the chainstay and down tube. I've found that when it's as close to the spindle as possible I don't hit it with my boot and it registers my cadence. Fits my iPad easily, but if your feet are wider than mine, be warned. Update: When I was riding in my sneakers, my boot kept bumping into it, so I ended up attaching it to my shoe. You have to position the sensor's horizontal axis more or less vertically

ONE STAR or FIVE STARS! - Requires detailed Bluetooth pairing instructions

Most likely you will NOT be able to sync Bluetooth Low Energy DIRECTLY with your phone, PC or MAC. I could not. You MUST use a fitness app to find the BLE device - in my case, Zwift on PC and the Zwift companion app on iPhone. I struggled with this for almost an hour until I installed the BLE scanner on my phone and recognized the XOSS device. lived. When we returned to the combined Zwift app and PC companion and spun the rear wheel to activate the XOSS, the device suddenly popped up in the…

Not directly compatible with Android

Cannot be used directly as a speed sensor on an Android phone. You must be using a compatible app (I use Wahoo) to connect. Bluetooth Android will see this and try to connect, but even though it never asks for a password, it will say the password is wrong. Wahoo connects to it with no problem. I can't vouch for its accuracy compared to GPS or any other speed source as I have it on my bike axle, but the power to speed ratio seems accurate. Worth the money IMO, and don't listen to the chest that…

Works well enough for my purpose.

EDIT: Postponing this for a year or so because I wanted to use an old ANT speed sensor. Last week I switched my Zwift setup to Apple TV. ATV does not use ANT. Put a new battery in there. ZWIFT picked it up immediately. No problem. I picked this up for use with my new smart trainer, the Wahoo Kickr Snap, which strangely doesn't report cadence to Zwift. I had an old Garmin speed/cadence sensor connected, but only ANT+. Worked well but for the price I bought this XOSS to keep all the BT so the…
